Join Domtar and SCA on Saturday, September 23rd to restore Parc Thomas-Chapis.
Domtar has joined forces with the Student Conservation Association -- an organization dedicated to developing tomorrow's conservation leaders -- to lead community service projects at Domtar sites across the US and Canada. Together, we will restore parks and other natural resources in locations where Domtar employees live and work.
Parc Thomas-Chapais, located between Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Montreal East, is a community park providing over 15 hectares of woodland in the heart of the city. Along with offering playgrounds and community trails, the park has been recognized as a laboratory of biodiversity for many species of plants and birds.
Working with the local community organization Y'A QUELQU'UN L'AUT'BORD DU MUR, SCA will bring together volunteers to cut back invasive buckthorn shrubs that are pushing out native species, and open up trails to be enjoyed by the local community.
Bring the whole family as kids are welcome!
